This policy explains what WordMint collects, why, who it is shared with, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to describe how the app actually behaves rather than to reserve every right we might one day want.

The short version. To use WordMint you create an account with an email address. We store what you are learning and how you are doing at it, so your progress follows you to a new phone. We show advertising through Google AdMob. Text you put into the Translate tab is sent to a third-party translation service, and that text is also kept in your account. We do not sell your personal information.

1. Who we are

WordMint: Vocab Builder is published by Evenmore Infotech ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at [email protected].

2. What we collect

Everything below is tied to your account and stored on our servers. We do not collect anything from you before you create an account, other than what is needed to load the sign-in screen and to serve ads.

Account information

Email address — your login identity.
Password — stored only as a bcrypt hash. We never hold the password itself and cannot recover it.
Google account identifier — if you choose "Continue with Google", we store the stable account ID Google gives us plus the email address on that account. We do not receive your Google password.
Account status — whether you are on the free or a paid tier, and the date the account was created.

Learning data

The language you read and the languages you are learning, your stated level, your daily word goal and the topics you selected.
Per-word study state: how many times you answered correctly and incorrectly, which review stage a word is at, when it is next due, and when you mastered it.
Your daily streak and the date you were last active.
Your progress through the Word Play game levels.

Translator data

Saved words — any phrase you save from the Translate tab, stored as the original text, the translation, and the two language codes.
Translation history — we log every translation you request, including the text you entered and the text returned, the languages, and the time. This is used to operate the daily free-translation limit and to understand how the feature is used.

Please do not enter sensitive information into the translator. Anything you type or dictate there is sent to an external translation service and is retained in your account history until you delete your account.

Advertising events

When an ad is displayed to you or you tap one, we record the ad format (banner, interstitial, rewarded, native or app-open), whether it was a view or a tap, the time, and your account ID. We use this to see which placements work. It does not include anything about the ad's content or advertiser.

What we do not collect

No name, phone number, date of birth, address or payment card details.
No contacts, photos, files, calendar or location data. The app never requests these permissions.
No audio recordings. See Permissions.
No third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK is embedded in the app.

3. What stays on your device

These never leave your phone and are erased when you uninstall the app:

Your sign-in token, so you are not asked to log in every time.
Your interface language, chosen speech voice, and reminder settings.
The scheduled daily reminder. Reminders are created and fired locally by your device — the app does not use push notifications and does not send us a device token.

5. Permissions the app asks for

Microphone — only for the Speak exercise and for voice input in the translator, and only while you are holding or have started that control. Speech is converted to text by the speech-recognition service built into your device or operating system; depending on your device and settings, your OS provider (for example Google) may process that audio under its own privacy policy. WordMint does not record audio, does not store audio, and never uploads audio to our servers — we only ever see the resulting text.
Notifications — to show the daily study reminder, if you turn it on. You can revoke this at any time in your system settings.
Internet — to sync your progress and load content and ads.
Advertising ID — used by Google AdMob, as described below.
Run at startup — used only to re-schedule your daily reminder after the phone restarts.

6. Third parties we share data with

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with data brokers. Data reaches these companies only for the purposes described:

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to protect our rights or the safety of users. If the app is ever sold or merged, your data may transfer with it; you will be told before that takes effect.

7. Advertising and your consent

WordMint is free and supported by advertising served through Google AdMob. Ads appear as banners, occasional full-screen interstitials between sessions, and optional rewarded videos you choose to watch in exchange for a hint or extra translations. Ads are never shown in the middle of an exercise.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows you Google's consent form the first time you open it, before any ad is requested. Your choice there controls whether ads are personalised. You can change it at any time from Settings → Ad privacy settings. Outside those regions you can limit ad personalisation through your device's own advertising settings.

8. How long we keep your data

Account, learning progress and saved words — for as long as your account exists.
Translation history — retained with your account and deleted when the account is deleted.
Ad event records — retained for up to 24 months, then deleted.
Once you delete your account, everything above is removed from our live systems within 30 days, and from routine encrypted backups within a further 90 days.

9. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

give you a copy of the data we hold about you;
correct anything that is wrong;
delete your account and its data;
stop using your data for a particular purpose, or object to our legitimate interests;
withdraw a consent you previously gave — this does not undo processing that already happened.

Email [email protected] from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU and are unhappy with our answer, you may complain to your national data protection authority. If you are in India, you may contact us using the same address to raise a grievance under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act.

10. Deleting your account

Email [email protected] from the address registered on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We will confirm and remove your account, learning progress, saved words and translation history within 30 days. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

11. How we protect your data

All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS.
Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes, never in readable form.
Access to the production database is restricted to the people who operate the service.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.

12. Children

WordMint is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, or 16 if you are in a country where that is the minimum age for consent to data processing. We do not knowingly collect data from children below that age; if we learn that we have, we will delete the account. If you believe a child has registered, contact us at [email protected].

13. International transfers

Our servers and the third-party services listed above may process your data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where data leaves the UK or EEA, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision to protect it.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use WordMint after a change means you accept the updated policy.
